Low income and uninsured Floridians seeking care will have another alternative besides the emergency room to receive care thanks to the opening of the Umatilla Clinic in Orlando, FL. The Florida Department of Health recently gave the Lake County Health Department a three-year grant to open the new medical home, otherwise known as the Umatilla Clinic. Designed to encourage citizens to avoid use of the emergency room, it will also offer counsel and assistance in getting people insurance coverage.
