Charlie Crist and his new Cover Florida health plan will not work. Doesn’t he know this? Political ambitions sometimes cloud the true meaning behind ones thoughts. This new report casts doubt on how much progress will be made by offering a “bare-bones” health care policy to the nearly 4 million Floridians who have no health insurance. The report from the Washington, D.C.-based Center on Budget and Policy Priorities said the plan was likely to fall short since it did not offer a subsidy to help many of the low-income uninsured residents pay their premiums — even if it is only $150 a month.
