Florida Health Plans Delayed

Governor Charlie Christ’s plan, Cover Florida, as well as two other proposed plans have been delayed due to scheduling changes and continued review. The Cover Florida Plan is slated to begin in early 2009, while the other two proposals are still in the review stage. One would allow dependents to remain on their parents’ policy past the age of 20, and the other revolves around a virtual health insurance marketplace available to Florida employees. Do you find these delays unsettling? Do you think that any of these proposals will actually come to fruition?
