What will health insurance fraud, embezzlement,  and money laundering buy you? Apparently a nice car and a house in Vero Beach, FL among other things. Dennis Dowd, former head of human resources for a Japan based company, Hitachi, Ltd, has allegedly diverted millions of dollars from insurance claims into fake accounts created with variations of the company name. He was hired in 1979 and served as senior manager of corporate benefits until this past March. What are the long reaching effects of health insurance fraud, to both the company and to everyone in general? How many people have successfully gotten away with it?
