Help Without Tax Dollars
Will the partnership of six individual health insurance companies and the state of Florida really provide an answer to the growing problem of uninsured citizens in the state? Those involved are hopeful that the Cover Florida plans, which will be available beginning in early January of 2009, will provide the sense of security that people have been lacking in regards to their healthcare. For many Floridians, a lack of health insurance has led to avoiding less expensive preventative treatments and instead allowing minor medical problems to become major ones, resulting in large hospital bills and emergency care. The Cover Florida Plans are claiming to offer routine, preventative care coverage, as well as other medical supplies and equipment, and prescription drugs. However, critics are skeptical that the offerings are little different than previous attempts to provide afforable coverage, and will fail as others have. What do you think of the new plans?
