Obama Pushes Foward on Health Care Reform
As the nation’s budget deficit hits record numbers, Obama continues to push towards health care reform. The sentiment present in his campaign, that reducing health care costs is intrinsic to repairing the economy, remains at the forfront of his activities now that he has taken office. He plans to address Comngress on Tuesday regarding plans for making health care more accessible and affordable. The idea is that efforts at reform need to plow ahead and not let other pressing matters distract and deter from those efforts. Attempts at reforming the health care industry have traditionally met with failure. Will Obama’s attitude and the nation’s current state bring about a success after all these years, or will other more pressing matters facing the nation prevent it from coming to pass?
