Small Companies In Florida Victim of Rising Health Care Costs

The cost of health insurance benefits has been on the rise for a decade, and while the premiums are hard to manage for large companies, smaller businesses often find themselves in a much worse situation. With a smaller pool of employees, the cost becomes even greater, driving many to drop benefits altogether. This is troublesome for those who realize that in a good economy, it is the benefits which attract and retain good workers. Unfortunately, one ill person in a small group can prove disasterous for a small business health insurance policy. Small businesses are actually in the majority in South Florida, which makes Florida more prone to rising rates of uninsured citizens. Some companies are trying to work around this issue by offering health savings accounts and health reimbursement arrangements, which offer savings and benefits without being as pricey as standard health insurance plans. Do you think these serve as a wothwhile alternative?
